27 Hopeful Quotes to Give You Strength in Isolation

I am writing this blog post in early April 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic. Schools are closed for the rest of the year, most of us are at home with our families, many have lost their jobs, and people are dying.

It’s a scary time.

While we understandably most worried about our physical health right now, we also need to consider our mental health. This is an incredibly stressful situation that few of us, if any, have ever been through.

Here in the United States, it’s been 100 years since the Spanish flu, the last major epidemic to hit us. My grandparents were children during that period, so they barely spoke of it. Their parents are long gone. We don’t know how they persevered in the face of such a trauma.

So, we do the best we can. When the news becomes too much, I try to go for a walk or play with my children. Heck, watching Tiger King on Netflix has been cathartic.

I’m a reader, though, and I look to words to bring solace. I’ve collected some hopeful quotes below on resiliency, strength, and courage. These quotes bring me hope for the future and the realization that others have gone through such tough times before.

We will get through this, friend.
