10 Holiday Gifts Remote Teachers Will Adore

We all know that 2020 is a year for the history books. One of the groups that have seen the biggest change in how they work is teachers. Like overnight. We owe our teachers big this holiday. Luckily, I have some awesome gifts for remote teachers that will make them feel appreciated!
Remote and hybrid learning has forced teachers to make massive changes to their teaching practices, learn new technology, and answer so.many.emails.
To show your love and appreciation for the teachers in your life, get them something great this holiday. If you’re a student or parent, I have some fun ideas at the lower end of the price spectrum. If your adult child or partner is a teacher, there are some pricier options for you as well!

10 Gifts Your Favorite Remote Teacher Will Adore

Let’s take a few minutes to talk about logistics. If you are buying for YOUR remote teacher, this is the year of the e-gift card. I have more ideas in this post. Some school buildings are still open, so you *could* also ship a gift to the school ASAP and have the teacher pick it up in person. If you’re not sure, go with an e-gift card.
Buying for a friend or family member? Feel free to buy and ship directly to that person.
Gift Cards
If you’re not sure what your teacher wants, I can tell you – it’s a gift card. Know their preferences? Buy a card from a specific store. If you don’t know, an Amazon or Target gift card will be greatly welcomed! Many big box stores will send the gift card via email, so you don’t have to worry about shipping!
Personal Planner

Teachers spent more time lesson planning than any year of their careers, save that rough first year. This planner from Order Out of Chaos lets teacher plan for each class AND their personal lie AND schedule all that stuff, too! I’ve personally used it for 3 years and cannot imagine a better planner!
Powerful Teaching
Teachers love books and books about teaching! Powerful Teaching, by Pooja K. Agarwal and Patrice M. Bain, teaches educators how to use the power of retrieval practice to help students learn and retain more information in the long term. And even better, it doesn’t require redoing all those lesson plans in the process!
Blue Light Blocking Glasses
Everyone has spent the year staring at screens. Give your teacher’s eyes a break with these blue light blocking glasses that filter out the blue light from her laptop!
Wireless Headset
Whether your teacher is working remotely or in a hybrid system, they are talking, talking, talking a LOT to students over their computer. That laptop microphone just doesn’t cut it. Get him a wireless headset that amplifies his voice and cuts down on outside noises.
Seat Cushion
Is your teacher working remotely? That’s a lot of sitting on a dining room chair – ouch! Get her a serious seat cushion to make that long school day a bit more comfortable!
Face Masks
We’re all wearing face masks. Get a few nice ones for your teacher that speak to his fandoms – sports, TV series, or bands. These ones will keep the inspiration going and even come with a lanyard to keep those masks clean!
Adult Coloring Book
We are all looking for some mental relief right now. Get your teacher an adult coloring book that allows them to relax, color, and get a laugh at the same time.
Whiteboard Computer Pad
If your teacher can never find her sticky notes, this handy whiteboard computer pad will be a hit. A teacher can use this whiteboard to take notes on the fly about reminders, upcoming events, and funny things her students said!
Subscription Box
If you’re not sure what to get the teacher OR you’re working with a group, sign your teacher up for a subscription box. Each month’s box comes with fun supplies and snacks to keep your teaching trucking along all year long!
This is a school year one we will all remember (though maybe not fondly!) Get your remote (or hybrid) teacher or teachers something to make them feel extra appreciated this year. They definitely deserve it!
